May 12th, 2009

Featuring forty of the most exciting and prolific graffiti artists to have lived and painted in London, Crack & Shine is the only London graffiti book ever to be published. Also presenting the work of London-based photographer Will Robson-Scott, Crack & Shine includes a series of over 50 beautifully-composed photographs, created exclusively for the book; giving articulate and vivid insight into the awkward moments of waiting, the apprehension of hiding and the calm and stillness that comes with seeing the world from an altered perspective.

POSE AND THE EWOK

February 9th, 2009

zzzuntitled

After watching the video footage of Ewok and Pose’s latest production and noticing some glimpses of quality photography interspersed between the clips, I decided I would extract those shots and share them. The actual video is extremely well shot but seeing these two talented members of MSK at work in the form of still photos—allowing more time for the imagery to sink in—is possibly even more impressive.

CHILL SUNDAY AFTERNOON PAINTING

September 21st, 2008

Chill sunday afternoon painting.. 20 feet in the air on an aladdin lift, by one of Vancouver’s graffiti forefathers: Dedos, of AA Crew.

Sorry, I didn’t get an interview or anything. I’m not an investigative journalist—I just blog! I mean, I got some photos, what else do you want from me?? Just playin’ … I probably would have made the effort to chat with him and ask a few questions but as you can see, he was busy.. and high up in the air. He couldn’t even really hear me the first two times I asked him if it was cool that I took the photo above. Check out the rest of the photos from today after the jump…

THE TIM BARNARD INTERVIEW

June 13th, 2008

Head down to the Ayden Gallery tonight, some time between 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM, and buy this guy’s shit. One of the most prominent artists featured, among a slew of other equally talented individuals, Tim Barnard’s work will be hard to miss. As he puts it, his “focus on the infinite extremities inherent in the possibilities of high contrast black and white automatic drawing,” has given him a very distinct and original style. Equipped with nothing but a black marker a lot of the time and filling up entire eight foot canvases, the dude definitely has some skills.
