DID DMX BITE HIS STYLE FROM THIS GUY?

March 15th, 2009

When this first hit the net I ignored it but our extended (or immediate?) LAF family member, May, re-blogged it and showed me it was—..I don’t know—interesting and worthwhile or something? Yeah that sounds about right. But seriously though, it’s worth watching more than most interviews I’ve seen. Chiggidy check it out before you wreck yourself.

^If you didn’t know, now you know…

P.S.
If you noticed a decrease in posts, it’s because I’ve been a.) busy with work and b.) busy developing and further expanding the site. Don’t worry though, I won’t change the name again or anything; the only things that will change are the variety of topics we’ll cover and most likely the number of actual contributors to the site. I mean I doubt anyone’s going to nerd out on the blog-tip as much as me or, to a lesser degree, Oren, but other fools will definitely be in the mix. Either that, or I’ll find something better to devote half an hour per day to… but…. how could the lost and found end up lost, itself? Hmm……

BEFORE THE MUSIC DIES

October 12th, 2008

So the other day I was on msn at work and my boy was working on his final project for school and asked me for some ideas. He was trying to conceptualize a series of T-shirts that illustrated how much better 90’s music (and the 90’s in general) is, compared to what’s going on right now.

He mentioned that we have iPods but in the 90’s kids either had to go out and buy CD’s or sit around all day waiting for a song to play on the radio so they could record it. He said we were basically spoiled, I agreed wholeheartedly, and then suggested another angle that would lend itself to t-shirt design: artists from previous decades didn’t necessarily need to be good-looking to make it. Back then it was more about the music—raw talent alone could get you signed. I told him to make some shirts with some talented, ugly-motherf*ckers on them, and he thanked me for the idea.

Looks like I’m not the only one that noticed this trend in music. Enter: ‘Before The Music Dies’ …

This documentary is an in-depth look into the topic my friend and I touched upon in our conversation (see ^above) and is a must-see for any music lover. I just found it today thanks to Niña Mendoza’s blog… thanks Niña!
