It’s “totally extreeeme!” (Read the HB comments section by clicking here to see how many people agree with me about that.)

Reblogged from Hypebeast and other streetwear outlets, James Jebbia, founder of Supreme NY recently granted Interview Magazine an interview. He touches perceptively on reselling, artist collaboration, the Japanese market, and the definitive emergence of the brand, quoted below.
“These companies had to sell to a wide range of people, and a lot of them were very young. When people think of skaters, they think of, like, the 12- or 13- or 14-year-old kid. But in New York, it was the 18-to-24-year-old hardcore kid who wasn’t wearing any skate stuff. They’d wear a hat or whatever, but they wouldn’t wear the clothing, because it would fit badly and was bad quality, and skaters want to look good and pick up girls. So we slowly started making our own stuff. It was a time when it was a lot easier to do that kind of thing. It was easier to make a sweatshirt in Brooklyn, or do these hats locally, because you could get nice things made fairly easily.”

Super Hyper Real aka. Jing Quek is a talented Chinese photographer currently residing in Singapore. Boasting an impressive portfolio, his unique approach has garnered much international attention and praise—and upon scrolling through the images included below you will undoubtedly agree that it’s well deserved. Below is a selection I’ve compiled of of his—sometimes experimental—and always impressive photography that, to me, raises a simple question: ..where do you fit in?

FLY ASIAN GIRL THAT REALLY LIKES MILK?

FLY CHICKEN-LOVING EXHIBITIONIST ASIAN GIRL?

OVERLY ENTHUSIASTIC PHOTOGRAPHER?

COLLEGE STUDENT WITH UNIQUE APPROACH TO HAVING FUN?

ON YOUR POWER CHOP SOUP GRIND?

NEXT-LEVEL LANDSCAPING PERSON?

OR MAYBE YOU’RE JUST DOWN WITH THE EMPIRE?

After watching the video footage of Ewok and Pose’s latest production and noticing some glimpses of quality photography interspersed between the clips, I decided I would extract those shots and share them. The actual video is extremely well shot but seeing these two talented members of MSK at work in the form of still photos—allowing more time for the imagery to sink in—is possibly even more impressive.
I don’t know if you’ve noticed but a lot of us L.A.F. peeps are down with graffiti and all of us are down with Obama so I have to share yet another already-posted-on-hypebeast gem with you here.
“BOSTON — A street artist famous for his red, white and blue “Hope” posters of President Obama has been arrested on warrants accusing him of tagging property with graffiti, police said Saturday.
Shepard Fairey was arrested Friday night on his way to the Institute of Contemporary Art for a kickoff event for his first solo exhibition, called “Supply and Demand.”

The other day as I was fishing around for my street tatsujin (translates to masters of the streets; my pick of someone with remarkable and original street fashion sense), I came across Ryo, a Londorer by the #6 exit of Xiemending MRT station. After a few casual greetings and exchange of stickers, I soon realized it would elapse to an unforgettable night.

After the big event which occurred this past Tuesday with our neighbors across the border, I thought I’d start a series of posts in tribute to Canadian/American collaborations.
