I’d like to say Diplo is generally on point… his Electric Relaxation remix for example was great, but every once in awhile he makes some nasty ass edits (google diplo Spoon - Don’t You Ever or Brazilian Girls - Good Time). I saw him at Richards a few weeks back and he held it down… all things considered he definitely attempts cool shit, this as an example. “Hey” got me into the Pixies, and I don’t really know what is going on here but check it out.
I don’t know about his pose here with the sunglasses and all that but who the f#*k cares? B.o.b. is out here continuing to give me hope in the new generation of ceremony masterers… Download it while the link still works!
I’m late posting this but his latest leak is included below under “bonus track”—more real s#*t for y’all. Mixtape track listing after the jump…
Starting at 5:00pm tonight, stores all over Gastown will have merchandise on sale. Bust out your magnifying glass and click above to decipher which stores those are exactly. Seems like a lot of them will be providing (free?) refreshments….. I’m sold.
The legendary Roots survived a horrific tour bus crash in Paris, France. They are currently overseas in Europe opening up for Kayne West on his tour. On Nov. 20, while on the road to give one of their amazing shows to a sold-out crowd in Belgium, they were involved in a car accident involving their bus and another passenger vehicle. (A photograph of the damaged tour bus can be viewed by clicking “read more” at the bottom of this post.)
Drummer ?uestlove detailed the crash in a message posted on Okayplayer.com’s new blog:
“In reality the crash was all of about 7 seconds,” the drummer wrote in an email later posted on the site. “But to do a 360 on the highway and end up ramped up (the van that crashed into ours was under our double decker bus) in the air…is…well… a frigging miracle.”
In related news, a video just recently surfaced on YouTube where ?uestlove suggested that the band would be “retiring”. But the band has signed a contract to work as the house band for Late Night starting in March 2009 once Jimmy Fallon assumes hosting duties.
Remember (when Nas, Nature, AZ and Foxy Brown were called) The Firm? If so, you should remember this jam too but there’s a 90% chance you don’t, so click play and (re-)discover it…
Kid Cudi talks about working on 808’s and Heartbreak with Kanye West, shows us what a room full of groupies looks like, and eats rice krispie squares. Consequence and Mr. Hamilton do their thing as well… Oh yeah, and Kid Cudi and Consequence divulge a fair bit of info regarding their upcoming albums. Basically, the video is definitely worth watching if you’re a fan of any of these artists.
