Hey what up LAF, long time no see, no post either. I did this watercolour for a show a little while back. Took me a while to post because of laziness and my feelings towards the painting… it’s a transition piece.. I think. Peep it and drop a line if you want… not sure where I’m goin with it, but more to come.
It turned out I wasn’t the only one that could appreciate that ‘Super Duper’ record so here’s some more for y’all… He needs to write another verse for Super Duper and do an extended version by the way…
[Edit: My blogging is slipping lately for real. What I wrote below basically doesn't apply because I neglected to notice that B.o.B. is on one of those XXL covers... my bad. Song's (still) good.]
I scan through blog posts of new tracks like nobody’s business sometimes and who knows how many gems I miss—this time, however, the only one I chose to click on was a good call on my part.
All these new young mc’s (basically the dudes on those XXL covers) are cool and all but there’s a few other new artists not getting the exposure they deserve and B.o.B. is one of them. He gets some shine though so I guess the world isn’t completely crazy…
“I know I’m left field to you… but don’t it sound so real to you? …”
They just dropped a new EP, “Acid Bagg”, on Fool’s Gold, and are touring to support it. I don’t know why there’s a Winnipeg date and no Vancouver show but hey… at least we got Soulwax, who played a dope set last night.
It’s actually a good store… and things like free(?/cheap?) alcohol are pretty much cool too so come show your support. I’ll be the dude wearing $20 worth of clothing and $300 worth of shoe. (…I kid, I kid.)
Okay, your first inclination after looking at this dude—and his hair—will be to dismiss this post completely and move on. That’s fair enough and I invite you to go ahead. Chances are you’ll some day coincidentally hear about this book again though, and when that happens, don’t forget you heard about it here first…
For those that don’t know, here’s a quick explanation: A (true) yogi (not to be confused with modern day “yogis” who simply teach yoga exercises) is (said to be) someone who usually displays uncanny abilities at a young age, and then proceeds to dedicate his or her life to achieving mastery and enlightenment. A master is someone who lives and breathes their “highest truth;” they are truth personified. Some say they live truth to such a degree that what ever they say or believe can become reality. This would also be described as performing a miracles, I suppose. Hence, (and you may have already guessed this) Jesus is an example of a master. (No, I’m not a hippy or mystic or anything like that, I’m just up on a lot of random, interesting, shit…)
