When he’s focused… Budden makes some unbelievable songs. I won’t upload Dumb Out, which is another example of seven minute madness of shitting on everyone in the industry, but if you like this google it. I like Budden for a few reasons, one of them being he was your classic major label signee who dropped two generic singles (Pump It Up and Gangsta Party) and more or less fell off the map due to poor soundscan numbers and other label drama I’m guessing. But this dude didn’t lie down. He started grinding with the Mood Muzik tapes, which in my opinion are nuts in terms of album quality tracks both content and guest feature wise. He was recently released from his contract with Def Jam, his second full length album has been promised for awhile, titled The Growth, which will probably be dropping on an independent. Here and there we get drops like these which in my opinion are refreshing.
“DMV producer introduces the first artist signed to his Strange Music Imprint, RAtheMC. Enjoy! (Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile)”
Just received an e-mail and figured I’d post this up. Who knows, maybe this girl will go down in history with MC Lyte, Lauryn and Ladybug Mecca some day??? She can dream I guess… and dreams do sometimes come true. (Stay up. Thanks for the e-mail.)
To follow the Westcoast remix JSE just posted, this is rumored to be the first single from Bishop Lamont’s debut on Aftermath. Nah Right leaked a radio rip earlier today, here is the CDQ version. Produced by Dr.Dre. One of his better beats recently in my opinion. I just hope dude’s album comes out. I’ve been checking for Bishop since his tape with DJ Skee, available here. I’ll upload a few of the tracks I saved from it.
“Kidz In The Hall’s road trip began in New Jersey as producer Double O devised a bass-heavy instrumental and decided he and rapper Naledge were going to travel the USA putting their favorite artists on the record. The duo paid a visit to Masta Ace in Brooklyn, NY and then made a quick pit stop in the Bronx to say what up to Pusha T from The Clipse. The journey continued on to Chi Town where the group linked up with the Cool Kids. From there it was on to Port Arthur, TX to visit Bun B. Their final destination, like so many road trips, was California, where Kidz In The Hall met up with Pac Division, Tyga, Glasses Malone and Mistah F.A.B.”
