For this beautiful summer day in Vancouver (finally!), some new, feel-good shit, by Greg Street and Nappy Roots. Hopefully it’s a beautiful summer day wherever you live too… yeeee
“New audio from “Greg Street f/Nappy Roots, “Good Day,” which is taken from Greg Streets upcoming project ‘Greg Street Certified Worldwide’ which will be released by Interscope Records. Also included on Greg Streets debut are Lil Wayne, Game, Soulja Boy, Rich Boy, Wale, Kardinal Offishal and many more.” (Thanks Matt)
For our predominantly caucasian set that enjoys dancing hard to electro and what-not, some fresh shit out of Chicago. Good lookin’ out to Promo Mami for the e-mail. Click here for more info about Kid Color and enjoy the mix below…
Here’s a remix/re-edit of Electric Relaxation by Diplo, direct from his blog. I didn’t think it was possible to remix this song… I was wrong. Stay tuned for that A-Trak x Nike mix, we’ll try to have it online as soon as it’s available.
Following Radiohead’s “pay what you want” example, the album is available here. I haven’t listened yet, I’m not a big Girl Talk fan to be honest, so by all means post up if you like it.
Apparently this came out some time in 1993, and it has that type of golden-era vibe. I definitely don’t have anything negative to say about this track—it’s very soulful and even the singing is decent. Over-all, it almost sounds like he was a fan of Pharcyde, Digable Planets and/or A Tribe Called Quest back when he wrote this.
“Rico here….This reggae mix should be a good introduction to people who think they might like reggae but don’t really know where to start. It has a lot of classic dancehall, roots, all the way to newer stuff and even a bit more obscure hits. But most of all it should encourage you guys to come down to Reggae Sundays at Republic, because it’s super fun. Really, I wouldn’t lie!”
Check out a few nice shots by a reader that found out about our site at an A-trak show. They’re kind of grainy because of the lighting but I guess that’s the desired effect. Apparently we spread the word while inebriated—thanks for the e-mail, David.
Plus, fresh new photos by Jordan Todd after the jump.. (liking the new website, bro)
