You might need to turn down, or mute your volume during the video.
Whether it’s total hippy mumbo jumbo or scientific fact, I think people will be freaking out about this more than they did over the whole Y2K fiasco.
All we posted to wrap up 2007 was a youtube video by Skillz and a promise to post more shit on here. Hopefully the promise has been kept but I didn’t think the Skillz video was enough so in addition to that, give this a listen:
[Edit:] Dude took down the post. Oh well.
“Last August, a blogger in Cincinnati going by the name CincyBlurg reported that a black friend from the southeastern U.S. had recently discovered that she was being called a Canadian. “She told me a story of when she was working in a shop in the South and she overheard some of her customers complaining that they were always waited on by a Canadian at that place. She didn’t understand what they were talking about and assumed they must be talking about someone else,” the blogger wrote.
After this happened several times with different patrons, she mentioned it to one of her co-workers. He told her that ‘Canadian’ was the new derogatory term that racist Southerners were using…”
Don’t say we never dropped science on you…
“A tiny chemical “brain” which could one day act as a remote control for swarms of nano-machines has been invented.”

And above we have a neckband that intercepts nerve signals, allowing someone to translate thoughts into words without emitting a sound. Hence, this would allow someone to use a phone without actually speaking and, in theory, even take notes without writing. I thought it would be at least 50 years before I’d be able to take notes with my mind… this shit is crazy.
“A neckband that translates thought into speech by picking up nerve signals has been used to demonstrate a “voiceless” phone call for the first time.
With careful training a person can send nerve signals to their vocal cords without making a sound. These signals are picked up by the neckband and relayed wirelessly to a computer that converts them into words spoken by a computerised voice.”
To keep you up to date with artists whose music we’ve been showcasing over the past few months:

Congratulations to Wale (above) who just signed to Interscope Records! Read the full story here at Elitaste. Also, he’ll soon be releasing a Seinfeld inspired mixtape called The Mixtape About Nothing. Click here for more details.

We only posted one track by Mickey Factz so far (back in November), I think, but apparently he’s been releasing about one track per week for the last little while. Here’s the latest from him:
Mickey Factz - (I Ain’t Like The) Rest Of ‘Em
Mickey Factz Vs. Naledge (Kidz In The Hall)

Buckshot and 9th Wonder released a new single called Hold It Down:

When I said the previous post reminded me of The Grey Album, I think I was actually thinking of this one. No offence to anyone, but this is a lot more enjoyable than The Biggie Hendrix Experience for some reason - hence me posting it. I would say this one and The Grey Album are equally well executed.

Notorious B.I.G. & Frank Sinatra: Come On x My Way Of Life
Notorious B.I.G. & Frank Sinatra: 10 Crack Commandments x Fools Rush In
Notorious B.I.G. & Frank Sinatra: Hypnotize x Little Green Apples
Download: DJ Cappel and Smitty - Blue Eyes Meets Bed-Stuy (2005)
R.I.P. Biggie Smalls, The Notorious B.I.G. - Christopher George Latore Wallace.
Strategically released by DJ Doc Rok just in time for the anniversary of The Notorious’ death, this release reminded me of The Grey Album (The White Album mashed up with The Black Album) by DJ Dangermouse in 2004. If you like Biggie, and you like Hendrix, this is worth a listen. Apparently the release isn’t getting enough exposure though because Nahright doesn’t have it yet, but that’s what we’re here for right?
